The Elderly parents provide security and a comfort that is very natural of their behavior towards children. Economically my parents or parents from my wife side are well to do and capable to manage their expenses. This is true for most of my Indian friends living in Norway. I therefore request to reconsider the proposal which tightens access to family immigration for elderly parents. Many elderly parents have spent their lives supporting and nurturing their children. Allowing them to reunite acknowledges this contribution and reflects a moral commitment to care for one’s parents in their later years. Elderly parents often experience loneliness and emotional distress when separated from their children and grandchildren. Family connection is vital for maintaining their happiness and quality of life. Families can provide personalized care for their elderly parents, including physical and emotional . I will conclude my response with the hope that humanitarian considerations would guide immigration policies. Reuniting families aligns with universal values of compassion and empathy, recognizing the importance of familial bonds and the dignity of older individuals.
