I came to Norway and talented engineer working in the Oil and gas Industry and I as an individual started contributing to the taxation system without and previous incurred benefits in terms of education, healthcare, infrastructure etc. I positively look forward to work in this country and contribute to the socio economic structure of this nation. I truly believe that this country cares immensely for mental and emotional well being. This is very much achieved by companionship or living in the company of your family and friends. Just before the beginning of winter the Oslo municipality and the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) conducted a public health survey which highlighted the need to living close to family and friends and maintain good communication and relations with your closed ones to avoid depression. This clearly highlights the need of being close to you dear ones specially family for a happy long lasting and healthy life. However on the other hand by changing the law of family reunification and not allowing parents to unite with their kids staying in Norway while they plan to live the rest of their lives here and contribute to the society is not an appropriate approach. This will in many ways mentally affect the workforce in Norway that has immigrated from other countries. There will always be a burden in their minds that their parents are alone back in their home country with no one to support and are miles way from where they live and work. This burden in a ways brings a second thought in our minds that should we really look for our future here or look for other developed economies that support in better ways. Norway is a rich developed nation which shall every easily cope with the concerns of burden on the healthcare system which the current governments feels will be caused due to elderly parents coming to live with their children, which anyway is yet to be statistically proven. This approach in term shall cause more harm then good as considering elderly people as a burden is in itself not the correct comparison. Many elderly people provide a solid support the system of family as a whole. They motivate the idea of belongingness and promote younger generation to have families. If the younger generations are detached from the idea of family the nation will suffer. This will have long last effect on the Norwegian society. Thus i sincerely request that the current government reconsiders its decision to revoke this law for the better future of this nation.
